At times life can throw you some curved balls and when they arrive with no warning and in several guises at the same time, you can stop in your tracks and well panic…. In the late summer 2022 I found myself in this exact place. A strong and apparently confident person who found herself struggling to cope with rational thinking, with reasoned actions and who needed someone who would listen, not judge and support not direct me on the road to recovery. Maggie was that person. Over a period of 10 weeks and with the support of hypno and a huge amount of patience Maggie was able to help me find more rationale thought, to focus on facts not fiction and to help me with simple tools in managing situations as they would inevitable come up in the future. At times my journey was unclear to me. It was however structured, systematic with the end goal - to find a way of supporting stressful situations and maintaining control of emotions and thoughts. It is now 10 weeks since my last session with Maggie and her simple tools are used by me regularly - personally and professionally. I have shared her thinking with many friends in times of challenge and would not hesitate on recommending her. For anyone looking for a safe place to share, to learn new tools and to regain a sense of purpose make the call …you will not regret it.

I had a cancerous tumour removed last year and Maggie helped me through the operation and the pain relief afterwards, as a result of the operation I ended up with a stoma which meant I no longer needed to go and sit on the toilet. However my brain kept telling me that I did still need to go, I was getting stomach cramps and the only way I could relieve the discomfort was to go and sit on the loo as if I was going for a poo, it would be 10 - 15 mins before I got relief. I started to log how often this was happening and it was on average 17 times in a 24 hour period including 4 -5 time overnight, so not getting a good nights sleep. This was extremely tiring and inconvenient and I did not feel like leaving the house in case I could not find a toilet. I was convinced this was psychological rather than medical so once again I turned to Maggie for help. She really concentrated on slowly reducing the amount off pressure/cramps I was getting, then gently negotiating with the sub conscious mind to reduce the frequency by Hypnotherapy. She then used the control Room but only at a level that was acceptable to the sub conscious mind, my protector! She worked by requesting and accepting its guidance. I’m glad to say that although I do still need to go occasionally we have got this down to 1-2 times a day and without getting the cramps, life is feeling a lot more positive and I’m now getting out again and I know that it will only be a matter of time before these feeling will be a thing of the past. A big thank you to Maggie, this was quite a challenge but once again she has guided me through a tough time with her expertise.

I started life coaching with Maggie back in October and it has been, hand on my heart, the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. When I look at myself 5 months ago to how I am today, I am proud of the change. I had 2 quite specific goals I wanted to achieve, these were to feel mentally strong and to reduce my worrying. These feelings can come in many different ways throughout my life but I can say that I feel strong! A lot stronger than I was and my worries, or the way that I worry, has significantly reduced due to the guidance, tools, kind words and practice Maggie has given me. Maggie helped me realise I am strong enough to face whatever comes my way in life which in turns reduces worry. She helped me to see my strengths, sometimes things I thought badly of myself about! Maggie has given me the tools to carry throughout my life when things get more difficult I know what I can do to help myself. I cannot thank Maggie enough for her kindness. She made me feel completely as ease from the start of our sessions. At times I felt the worst about myself and that I was crazy, she was the voice of reason! We were able to laugh and reflect the whole way though our sessions. Some were harder than others but every single one was beneficial. I don’t think I would still be here today without the advice, kindness, help and encouragement of life coaching with Maggie! It truly has been the best decision I’ve made for myself. I am forever grateful and would recommend Maggie’s life coaching course to anyone from all walks of life, ages ect!

Dear Maggie, I just wanted to give you a wee update, and also to thank you again, as I have made some progress and I don't think I would have without you. I'm still on track to retire end of April. I think I told you I used to work for a Tour Company as a guide, and as part of that I took school trips to World War One Battlefields in France and Belgium and I loved it. Well, the same company were advertising for guides back in October, and I applied and was successful. So I start training in May, it's been 10 years since I took my last tour, so happy to go through the training programme. I don't think I would have had the courage to apply before, I would have talked myself out of it. I am so pleased, as I will be out and about, bit of travel, working with young people and on a subject I'm passionate about. Once I'm trained, it will probably be 6-8 tours a year. A huge thank you to you, as I really wouldn't have applied, I would have had long conversations with myself and been convinced I wouldn't get it. But I applied all your positive thinking and it worked! Thank you.

Back in April (2022) I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, after many scans, scopes and consultations it was recommended that I would need major abdominal surgery to remove the tumour. Prior to this I had always been fit and healthy so the thought of an operation and the fact that I would probably also end up with a stoma was playing havoc with my mind and I was becoming very stressed. I knew I was going to need help to get through this so I turned to Maggie. I had a call with Maggie to discuss what was going on and she decided that a hypnotherapy session would be the best bet. So I had a session and listened to the recording every day and sure enough my stress levels diminished and I started to feel better about the surgery. I then had a call from the hospital to say that I was booked in for surgery in two weeks time! My anxiety became heightened, I had previously suffered from anticipatory anxiety where I would think of the worst case scenario and that would become fact in my mind causing me to have panic attacks. I knew that if I let this anxiety take hold of me again I would not be able to go through with the operation, so once again I turned to Maggie for help. We had another hypnotherapy session and this time she focused on turning down my anxiety, again I listened to the recording of the session every day leading up to the surgery. I can only describe what followed as a miracle! I was going through the most traumatic experience of my life and I was so calm, no stress, no anxiety just took everything in my stride. I was joking with the theatre staff as the anaesthetist was trying to get a needle in my spine for an epidural. When I came round from the surgery I had a stoma on my left side which meant it was a permanent one, no problem it’s now part of me I will even give it a name! We also did a session on pain relief and my pain levels after the operation were minimal considering the severity of the operation. I was only in hospital for seven days and off all pain killers two days later. The whole process and my recovery had gone so much better that I could ever have imagined. I’m now 4 weeks post op and my recovery is going great, living with my stoma and no anxiety, I can’t thank Maggie enough for the help she has given me and would highly recommend her.

I worked with Maggie on a 10 week Life Coaching programme recently. I wasn't looking for a complete overhaul of my life but rather a fine-tuning of certain areas and a desire to achieve a better balance in my life between a very busy work and family life. I found it to be a fantastic and really helpful experience which gave me the chance to genuinely "step off the wheel" for a little while each week. Maggie was brilliant at helping me focus on what really matters to me and advised of different techniques for relaxation and focus. I first made contact with Maggie after struggling with stress and anxiety caused by an unexpected life event. I was initially sceptical about what I could gain from sessions with Maggie however I feel I've come a long way since then. Maggie put me at ease and I was able to talk comfortably about my struggles. She used several techniques like hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming. With time I was able to utilise benefits of the techniques she used. Maggie is a warm and approachable person and made me feel able to be open and honest about what I was going through which helped her to tailor the sessions to have a biggest impact on me. Overall I found the sessions beneficial and I would recommend Maggie to others.

I felt I was at a point in my life where I had to review how I had dealt with certain situations over the last few years and was recommended Maggie through a friend. After a really welcoming introductory chat with Maggie we agreed to progress with the Transformational Life Coaching. I was very opened minded about this and didn’t set specific goals, I had been dubious in the past of life coaching but this was more about understanding myself and why I do the things I do. The 8/10 Week course included some hypno and NLP which was also a new experience for me. The coaching allowed me to speak openly about myself and reflect on the way I do, view and think about things. I have already noticed differences to how I handle situations which is very empowering. The NLP has helped with a number of things that were troubling me, most significant my fear of heights which I now no longer have. Speaking with Maggie once a week was an absolute joy and we instantly bonded even over video call. I would highly recommend the coaching for anyone wanting to take a bit of a step back and reflect on their life.

Although I am only at the beginning of my journey with Maggie, I can already see results after just a few weeks. One of the many positives of working with her is that she offers an individual, personalised service. She has taken the time to learn about me as an individual and as an athlete, and she has been willing and able to work with me on issues that I am personally encountering in my sport. Maggie is solution focused, offering a wide range of therapies, techniques and methods that may be tailored to suit individual needs and preferences. It is clear that she is invested in my progress, because every session involves a discussion of progress and feedback. She has made several helpful suggestions that I am already able to incorporate into my training routine. I have always been a bit sceptical about speaking to someone when it came to how I felt and I used to bottle everything up. When Maggie and Mental Performance Training came to Lochend to offer services, I was apprehensive at first but I thought I would give it a go and I'm glad I did as it's the best decision I've ever made. Not only do I try and use Maggie's techniques within boxing it has also helped build me the confidence and given me a more positive attitude when it comes to being in the ring and having the self belief required to achieve the goals I have set. I found my session with Maggie very positive. I had been struggling with some issues at work that were making me feel very stressed. I found that even after a single session I felt able to view the situation that was causing me stress from a different perspective. It helped to re-frame the issue. I found Maggie very easy to talk to and found her approach very calming and supportive. Not sure how the technique works, but the main thing is it does!

I recently had a NPL session with Maggie. I wanted to do this because I was still holding onto some stress and anxiety from last year. Maggie used a sub modalities technique, which I would highly recommend for anyone who is suffering from any form of stress or anxiety. It is all about reducing the thoughts in your mind until they don’t matter anymore or don’t affect you. Maggie is excellent and delivers the sessions in a very calm and professional manner. I fully intend to go back to Maggie for more sessions, however I already feel a marked improvement in my mindset. If you are thinking about trying out any of Maggie’s techniques then I would definitely say go for it.

Suffering from stress and anxiety left me in a very fragile mental state. I was offered counselling through my GP to which I gratefully attended, however it was only a 6 week course and although I was starting to make some headway I felt that I needed something more, that’s when I found out about NLP with Maggie. I didn’t know much about NLP before attending my sessions but I can honestly say it has had a huge impact on me. I sought help from Maggie as I was going through a bit of a difficult time in my life. I’d got stuck in a rut and didn’t know which way to turn. I was beating myself up and had lost confidence. I also had some stress in my life which was not good for my mental health. Maggie worked with me using NLP and hypnotherapy. I had never tried any of these methods before so it was all new to me and I didn’t know what to expect. I went in with an open mind and just hoped for even a little bit of a positive outcome. I can honestly say that the outcome was just amazing. I walked in to see Maggie in a very bad way, highly stressed, low in confidence and very emotional. I came out like a different person. I can’t exactly explain how or what she did but whatever it was has changed things hugely for me. Maggie was non-judgemental and did not pry but just left me to decide how much or how little I told her about my problems. I felt very comfortable with her and at no time felt under any pressure. The stress lifted almost immediately and I am slowly getting my confidence back that I once had. Had the absolute pleasure of meeting with this wonderful professional lady and would highly recommend Mags for therapy & guidance. Maggie listens very carefully to everything you say and deals with every aspect empathically, she then tailors your therapy to what is best suited to you. This has now enabled me to approach matters from a different angle which is hugely beneficial so that I can now maintain a sense of control. After my sessions with Mags which included Hypnosis Therapy, which was wonderful, I left feeling very relaxed and calm and with Mags therapy toolkit in my head, able to move forward from a particular type of anxiety. If anybody is considering therapy and guidance with Mags I would say that you have nothing to loose but plenty to gain.

I went to see Mags for NLP sub modalities as I was going through a really stressful time which was causing me to feel really anxious. Mags immediately put me at ease. She explained how it all worked, what would happen & the process. It was such a calming experience which is ironic as I was going through a really stressful time that we talked about. The process of talking through it - visualising it, the sound, colour etc really helped me. It was so powerful, the mind is so powerful & Mags really helped me see how I could change my thoughts & helped me to disassociate from it all. Before seeing Mags, I can only describe my feelings of anxiety as a big ball in my stomach that was there constantly - sometime I noticed it more than others. After seeing Mags it was completely gone. I could've believe how powerful it was and how much she had helped me. I cannot recommend Mags enough. It made such a huge difference to my life. If you are considering going to see Mags - don't waste your time thinking about - just do it!!!

I suffer from a condition called tinnitus. It's a condition where you have continual buzzing and noise in your ears.I t is a very debilitating and stressful condition. I tried consultants and remedies over the years. I have had several Hypnotherapy sessions with Maggie and through her work with me she has been able to lower the buzzing and noise level in my ears from an 8/10 to a 2/10. It is a great relief to me. I would highly recommend Maggie as an excellent therapist. She has a very pleasant and easy going manner while at the same time being very thorough and professional in her work. The sessions were very pleasant and totally relaxing.

Maggie was recommended to me by a friend. I was reluctant to contact her as I'm a very private person. However Maggie reached out to me which was very kind of her. We had talked over a few months once a week for around an hour. I wasn't very sure what to expect and at first found it quite hard. It was all about me and thinking and talking about me was something I didn't really do with strangers. So this was very difficult for me. With Maggie's encouragement and positivity I quickly responded. I thought my life was really boring but Maggie made me accept that it wasn't and that everyone is different. At the time there was so much going on in my life (still is) including grief and she helped me put things into perspective and concentrate on me. She taught me how to not worry about things that are not within my control, to relax, breathe and I still use these techniques. I even go back and listen to the recordings she has given me. Its not for everyone, I thought it wasn't for me but I am thankful I took that step. (Or Maggie did). Before seeing Maggie I was struggling to get the most out of my boxing and general day to day life due to anxiety which had been built up during lockdown. Maggie completely turned this around for me using hypnotherapy and NPL. I was drastically feeling more myself after the very first session with her. After overcoming my anxiety I was able to fully excel in my boxing training and was in the best mental space going into my fight. This fully showed in my lead up to the fight and how I performed. I thought I managed my life reasonably well until a few upsets at work. Usually I would have just moved on carrying it all with me, but this time, I decided I needed some help. I’m so glad I did. The sessions with Maggie helped me see things so much more clearly, and I didn’t need to ‘carry’ anything with me. I could unpack all that extra baggage in my mind. Maggie worked with our 9 year old son to help him overcome the psychological effects of bullying, which for him were causing a lot of anxiety and had chipped away at his confidence and self-belief. The results of Maggie’s work now speak for themselves, Finlay is now bursting with confidence, his head is held high and his ambitions are even higher. He recently took it upon himself to open a boxing gym for young children (6-8yr) in my shed, as the gym, he attends only caters for age 9 and over. This is proving to be quite popular with the local children, he has 3 clients so far. I would like to note that Maggie went out of her way to research the information needed to ensure the help she gave Finlay was correct for him and ultimately successful.

“It was almost like a movie how I got involved with MPT, I had lost a couple of my last fights and it’s always ended up been a problem on the night. I’ve was performing in the gym but not bringing the same form into the actual performance. Then I seen the poster on the wall and thought, one last shot, and I thought if this doesn’t work then at least I know I have tried everything possible. It was actually recommended to me by a friend, and I thought why not, what is there to lose! It was something I should have done years ago as I never looked at my performance, I always looked at my conditioning from the neck down and prepare my body, but never really from the neck up.
